Agree, that the M 21 lux versus the new APO 21 SL lens might be interesting. That would surely cut down on lens purchases if the M21 lux proves well suited to the SL.

Does anyone know or has anyone tried the M 21 lux on an SL?

Yes. SL21Cron is several levels up compared to 21LuxM (in addition to weather sealing, af and close focus).

For the latter: Miscolouring/Italian flag towards corners/edges (snow, sand, white buildings, etc). Smeard stars (or highlights) in the outer quarter of the image frame. More busy oof rendering. Tendency for chromatic aberration/colour fringing. Tendency for flaring. These points are either absent or only weakly present in SL21Cron.

Thanks. Good to know. The SL 21 cron is many years after the M21 lux so your points are well taken.

Any comments on the SEM 21 on the SL?

On SL, SEM21 shows some smearing towards the edges. Otherwise, I find SEM21 less problematic (on SL) than 21LuxM.

Another lens I need like a hole in the head, but why not! I was hoping to be able to use more M lenses on my SL2S than in actuality it seems.

Hard to combat the SL-Crons... Clearly, the M-lenses have their strength in that they can be used on two, widely different systems. And that the lenses are, generally, small and non-intrubsive.

This is edited but, that's sort of the point of a wide angle lens and a high-res body: you can manipulate the photo because you have the real estate and resolution to do so.  f2.

I only own prime SL lenses, so wonder if set to MF and you half press the shutter do the zooms also show focus point and near and far focus points at all zoom settings?

Referring to Leica Miami video at 20:00-25:50. Maybe I missed something.

Outstanding image, really like what you and the lens did here.
