It is ok Philippe. We love Grenouille boiteuse and for sure we are not a "blame culture".

"Point your finger and make jokes and laugh", but no blame :)

Example. Following a member for half a day with a compass that pointed in the wrong direction and missing all the meetings with others in the day, resulted in a change of ownership of the compass :D:D:D

Half the reason I am unable to join all in Nice is because I am at a loss as to how to get there, without said compass. So if Pete goes astray, I told him so!

Also, I have lost my passport. Need a good compass to find it.

As the current owner of said compass I could bring it to Nice if you'd like, Ravi?

(Of course I might accidentally wind up in Copenhagen instead but I wouldn't mind that and it would provide the excuse to look up Erik Gunst Lund and see what he's up to these days. ^_^)

Pete.

It would be good to see it again and follow it to the sea, only to always have the sound of waves behind us :)

Travel without the passport and when they ask for your identity, hold up a mirror to yourself and say "that's me"  :D

Without the compass, you can come via Ch. de Gaul airport and be as lost as everyone else ... no compass will ever help anyone through that pile of %&*!

Question 3:

If John in Melbourne has a compass with a needle magnetised to point to the South Pole, and Ravi in Nice has a compass with a needle magnetised to point to the North Pole, what does Daniel (President of Ecuador) use to find his way around?

Please show all workings on a separate sheet of paper.

6 marks

or going back to work?

Will see Andy in Nice, if the gods of magnetism align.

Ravi, be careful to remember that not only South is North, but Left is always Right!

May your iron filings dance to an excited magnet.

Taxi, plane and tram for me.

I haven't decided which cameras to bring.

Q3-43 for sure.

Then either Q2 or M10M or M11P or SL

with 21 & 50 & (75 or 90)

First world problems ... I am leaning towards the Q2 for weight. It would be my first OneChallenge with AF lenses only.

AF is overrated

Absolutely! So are cameras, when it comes to 'winning' images.

My advice (past experience), research your location and don't leave home without an idea. That way you should have your top image within 15min. Just use any camera, as long as it is a Leica. ;)

Research - that’s what the Friday is for 😉

Last year in Dubrovnik, I found my shot first thing on the Saturday morning. Went back after lunch, and the sun had only moved across the sky by about 90 degrees, hadn’t it, leaving my sure winner in deep shade…

Anyway, I’m sure that the best shot will win!

“Don’t leave home without an idea”. My idea is to have a good time, enjoy the wine, beer and food and the company of others; talking of which I’m sure we’ll all miss your charm and intellectual conversion.
