It was great seeing old faces and new faces (not insinuating anyone has had plastic surgery since we last met, but some noses looked smaller and straighter) :D:D :D

Looking forward to next year.

The apparent size of noses depends upon the lens used.

We are home again, so this is just a reminder of the submission requirements for those who took part last week. It was a great Challenge, in my opinion, so I am looking forward to seeing everyone's work.

Remember, this is an anonymous competition, with the owner of each photograph (and me) being the only ones with the knowledge of whose work it is. This makes it fun for all of us, whether we took part or not.

Each year, I get requests for the full information on each shot, so this time, I will just publish the full table of entrant, camera etc and the list of who has voted for which shot, alongside the announcement of the winner. This latter information is available on the Forum of course, as the voting is not anonymous, but I will publish the table to make it easy for those who want to know this information.

So, the next stage is...

Submitting images for voting

Following the meeting, participants have until 3rd November 2024 to:

• Develop their film, if necessary.

• Select the single exposed image they believe best captures the day for them.

• Scan that image if necessary.

• Process and resize that image ready for posting to the Forum, with the longest side not greater than 2400 pixels and not greater than 2MB in file size.

• Forward that image to the organiser via email to mail @ andybarton dot com together with title.

Receipt of the image will be confirmed by return email.

Yes, if you’ve taken a shot for the Night Challenge, please email me both of the shots.

We also avoid posting any other shots taken in the location until the competition is over and winner announced, so that there is no confusion or conflict or clue as to the authorship of the competition entries.

Thanks.

Now I have a bit of time since returning home, just wanted to say..., it was good to catch up with everyone and meet some new people too. Thanks to Andy and Philliipe for organising the venues.  Look forward to seeing everyone next year.

Just to confirm that I have posted the change from the wine sponsorship from @Olaf_ZG to the Book Charity Justgiving page, as per his request.

Thanks again for your generosity, Olaf!

And this is a reminder that the images that are sent to me can be not greater than 2400 pixels and not greater than 2MB in file size.

Some are coming through at only 83kb - this may be an iPad or AppleMail thing, adjusting the image size to the minimum. If you are using one of these, make sure that the images are being sent at "full size".

If you are having any difficulties, please feel free to Dropbox or YouTransfer (etc) the file to me and I’ll do the rest.

Thanks

Andy

Got back home from our holiday two days ago (Tuesday morning, off the overnight ferry from Rotterdam [Europoort] to Hull). Spent the last three days doing laundry and other post-three-weeks-holiday sort-out; you know the sort of thing! Hope to look at my images over the weekend.

I still have about 10 entries not yet received.

I have sent a message to the WhatsApp group for those still on it as well as this reminder.

Thanks.

I have also sent emails out this afternoon.

I have also suggested a 'penalty' scheme to you (privately ;)) to encourage 'slackers' to speed up. Hmm.

A sort of replacement therapy. Say no more. ;);)
