Sandokan Posted September 1, 2024 Share #123 Posted September 1, 2024 Thanks Andy! I see that I have been to 9 of them, the first one being Venice in 2010. Both venues are within 1.2Km of my hotel, so looking forward to a leisurely stroll for the night challenge. I am looking forward to it.
andybarton Posted September 1, 2024 Author Share #124 Posted September 1, 2024 Our place is about 20 minutes walk away. But I had nothing to do with choosing either 😊

andybarton Posted September 3, 2024 Author Share #126 Posted September 3, 2024 Thanks Philippe Their website says that they also have a “light lunch” offering. I for one wouldn’t want a meal like this at lunchtime as I’d be asleep by 3pm. Is a lighter offer available too?

Olaf_ZG Posted September 3, 2024 Share #129 Posted September 3, 2024 How come a french restaurant can offer a 43 menu…. Numbers are pointing us to sth special…

Remember, Philippe has the 'local disadvantage' of being familiar with the locale. Everyone else has the advantage of 'fresh eyes', which is a real factor. I encourage Philippe to take advantage and feed you all up at lunch. Trust me, it will be delicious.
octo Posted September 4, 2024 Share #131 Posted September 4, 2024 You're right, John. I have thought about where to go but I can't see those places!

octo Posted September 12, 2024 Share #134 Posted September 12, 2024 Hello everyone, I have been in extensive contact with the Gaglio for the lunch meeting, trying to make them revise their view but to no avail: the light lunche version (20.90€) is not available on Saturdays and we're considered as a group. They stick to their first proposal. I'm very sorry about that. So: should I cancel the reservation? let me know.
andybarton Posted September 12, 2024 Author Share #135 Posted September 12, 2024 Thanks Philippe. That’s a shame. I think that if we can find somewhere for a lighter lunch, that would be preferable. I’ll have a look later, but would welcome other suggestions of course.
