spylaw4 Posted November 17, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 17, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm starting this to see if anyone might be interested in a London meeting for an Xmas drink. This all started on my St Pancras #1 thread in the Architecture photo forum. James rolo and Pete seems to be interested if we make it 8 December - any others able to come along? Apart from meeting at St Pancras we might want a decent pub not too far away. If anyone fancies lunch there are many Indian restaurants not too far away. ejd Posted November 17, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 17, 2007 I'd be very happy to meet up. Providing there will be lots of champagne. Rgds John
andybarton Posted November 17, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 17, 2007 Sorry, Brian. Have a stag do to go to on 8th... 16th is Rolo's party (that apparently he's paying for) and a wedding in Manchester. (Join the dots between Stag Do on 8th and Rolo, subject to negotiations ) 23rd is a bit close to the festivities... New Year?
stunsworth Posted November 17, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 17, 2007 I might be able to make the 8th. I quite like the idea of a weekend in London, given that I'm currently working in Perivale from Monday to Friday. The sooner the date is confirmed the better. biglouis Posted November 18, 2007 Share #5 Posted November 18, 2007 Brian, I could do the 8th, the Kings Cross/St Pancras area is close to my stamping ground (Camden). There is always Drummond Street nearby with its host of Indian Restaurants. Mind you, there is also the place we met in earlier this year in Holborn or the Penderels Oak across the road (which is a bit roomier but without the character). Let me know if any others are up for it. LouisB

stunsworth Posted November 20, 2007 Share #10 Posted November 20, 2007 Ok, I'm definitely in - I've just booked a hotel for the weekend. See you all on the 8th!
gabriel Posted November 22, 2007 Share #11 Posted November 22, 2007 Count me in for the 8th Looks like there will be a number of us so is it worthwhile booking a restaurant. The Drummond Street establishments generally have seating arrangements which would not be sympathetic to a group of 10 to 15 people.
elansprint72 Posted November 23, 2007 Share #12 Posted November 23, 2007 Apparently Mrs T has got other plans for me on the 8th.

Rolo Posted December 7, 2007 Share #17 Posted December 7, 2007 Have booked the train and the hotel, so every intention of being there. Just need to get across from Euston in good time. Rolo
andybarton Posted December 7, 2007 Share #18 Posted December 7, 2007 It's a 10 minute walk, if that, from Euston. But, from Claridges, it takes a bit longer.
stunsworth Posted December 7, 2007 Share #19 Posted December 7, 2007 But, from Claridges, it takes a bit longer Say hi to Gordon if you bump into him. Of course unlike Lord Barton of Barton not all of us can afford a suite at Claridges. In fact most of us couldn't afford a sweet at Claridges! andybarton Posted December 7, 2007 Share #20 Posted December 7, 2007 Someone else bought me supper there once, and I have managed to stay at The Grosvenor on Park Lane for £59. Worst night's sleeep I have ever had.
