LR Classic 13.0.1 is supposed to be a 'bug-fix' update.  I upgraded to it this afternoon and it worked OK first time.  Since then any attempt to open it results in an immediate crash.  Have uninstalled and currently in the process of re-installing v13.0.

I haven't updated yet. I have had occasional crashes with v13.0.0 and previous versions after importing and while culling. I put it down to a possible problem with my graphics card, as no one else was reporting such issues, and it wasn't causing me major problems.

Das habe ich auch erlebt. Ich bin nun wieder zurück zur alten Version. Und siehe da: Sie erscheint genau so wie ich sie vorher hatte: Alles noch verbunden inkl aller Plugins und Smugmug.

@Keith (M): Delete the 13 again and go back to the previous version. That is what I did and its perfect

Re-installing v13.0 was successful, so a big sigh of relief.  I raised a report on the relevant Adobe website, including the crash report and was inundated with lots of "me too" responses.  Adobe's response is either do what I have done or carry out a 'clean re-install' of v13.0.1:-

  • Uninstall v13.0.1
  • Reboot
  • With nothing else running, download / install v13.0.1
  • Wait five minutes before opening LR.

The choice is yours... ;)

I had to revert back to 12.5 as my scanning software (Negative Lab Pro) wouldn't work with 13.0. I'm still on Photoshop 2021 as my Canon print plug in won't work with later versions. Sometimes this software thing can be a stranglehold if one has specific needs and not everybody steps up to the plate.

This trick worked for me, thanks! 👍

So the bug happens with Monterey, Ventura Anand Sonoma.

Can we conclude that the bug is NOT on the side of Apple? Plus some have it with Microsoft as well.

Should Adobe not withdraw the new version. This is quite incredible situation.

Not everybody is as used to deal with bugs as some users here (partially me included). Many others just can not start Lightroom Classic any more and that's it then. It's not evident for many people to find out what to do. Regarding myself I would not have know what I should have done if my re-installation of the old version 12.5 would have lead to a situation where I had to start linking my Plugins or all my files or catalogue: I was maybe just lucky that 12.5 just worked as ever before . . .

This is a Leica forum. Did you mean to post this on an Adobe forum?

The final advice in the article above is: Wait for 13.0.2 👍

That is what I will do. Maybe even 13.1

My experience is: Better wait rather that being the first user. That is why on my Mac I am still with Ventura 13.5.2.

But I feel sorry not having the new Adobe features yet.
