o2mpx Posted September 21, 2023 Share #1  Posted September 21, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Picked up a preowned sample but having no luck finding the original metal cap for the 35mm F2.4 Summarit, despite lens should be current? Is there another lens that comes with same sized metal cap? Thanks.
Advertisement Posted September 21, 2023 Posted September 21, 2023 Hi o2mpx, Take a look here Lens cap 14475 for Summarit 35mm F 2.4. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wda Posted September 21, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted September 21, 2023 I think the metal cap is for the hood. If you'll accept a non-Leica item, it should be easy to find a generic solution.
o2mpx Posted September 21, 2023 Author Share #3  Posted September 21, 2023 Ah ok so the metal cap is to fit over the hood, not the lens.  I checked the cap for the earlier version F2.5 and it definitely was too wide for the lens. As I don’t have the hood, don’t know if the earlier version would fit once I get the hood?

Dan Nelson Posted September 22, 2023 Share #6 Â Posted September 22, 2023 I use the 35mm 2.4 summarit metal lens cap for my 35mm APO. I guess that means that the 35mm APO metal lens cap should fit as well!

Sometimes even for free. I never heard of replacement parts of any company being available in third party shops… sometimes shops have them sometimes not. Since you didn’t reply in the thread anymore I assume it got resolved for you?
