Broken rewind knob on Leica M4-2

Hi,

I dropped my bag and damaged the rewind knob of my M4-2, do you know if these are compatible across the M line that have one, I've see in some listings for it that show M4, M4-2, M6 and M7 as supported but then there are others where only the M6 is mentioned.

The black chrome was was introduced with the M4-2, so all the rewind knobs should fit.

However, DAG's site says both this and the black paint are "Sold Out"

Checking some offering in from eBay I can see that there is a little part that is not present on mine, I wonder if it could be removed or if it just missing from mine.

I’ve oonce dropped a Leica M3 and its rewind was totally jammed. Needed a replacement. Not surprising, and Leica never implied it was an invincible mechanical piece.

About your rewind knob, yes, any will fit.

It's a retaining washer to hold the spring in place, I think previously the spring was a different design and held in place by screws. It should fit.
