fotografr Posted September 7, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been digging into my negatives to scan selected images for my digital files. I photographed this young woman several years ago for a story about how she was single-handedly turning a barn into her home. I never got back to see it finished, but she was definitely determined and confident about the project. M6/Tri-X Welcome, dear visitor! Lelmer Posted September 7, 2023 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2023 Splendid portrait, Brent. If you have the chance, a before / after set would be worth, I am sure.

I'd love to do that but I doubt if I could even find my way back to her property. 🤔
stuny Posted September 7, 2023 Share #4 Posted September 7, 2023 Terrific shot. Too bad its location eludes you.
fotografr Posted September 8, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted September 8, 2023 I know generally where it is but I recall when I went there to do the shoot there were quite a few turns on country roads. Also, I have no idea if she's still there. I shot this about 25 years ago.
David Cantor Posted September 8, 2023 Share #6 Posted September 8, 2023 One of the many things that I like about this is the way that the rungs of the ladder mirror the direction of the strips of light and shadow on the floor, plus the verticals make everything come together. Not forgetting of course the lovely lady. David

Even though this shoot goes back quite a few years, I recall having two strong reactions when I first walked into the barn. One was that my subject was quite a lovely person and the other was that I absolutely had to make images that used the strips of bright light coming through the spaces between the wall boards.
