Taken with the M-P 240 and 2/90 Apo Summicron. I almost use never a flash, but in this case I had to use it (SF-40) because of the limited low light performance of the M240 (I sold it to buy the M10-D). To be honest, I am not so experienced with the SF-40 and I try several photos until I have one which I like. In this case I liked the style of this photo with the light on Sironis face, the shadow in the background and her cool, almost dismissive attitude. For a sharper version, just click on the photo.

Thanks a lot Lelmer! The most important improvement for me was the better low light performance of the M10. And the colors out of the cam of the M10 are really perfect for me. Almost no time needed for postproduction and wasting time in front of a computer

That's about as good as flash images can look, but I'd have moved her farther out from the background so as to avoid the shadow down the right side. Some people like that (as you stated that you do) but I'm not one of them. When I was shooting for a living, I carried a one meter synch cord so that when I had to use the flash I could elevate and center it to avoid getting the shadow. 

Otherwise, the portrait is superb. The pose, composition, expression, colour balance--all excellent as usual.

I have yet to take a photo with my SF40 that I am even remotely happy with. Well done! I like it.

I would love to know the flash settings. All manual?

I'm being too critical lately. You like the shadow, you clearly know what you're doing and always post incredible images, so I'm going to retract my negative comment about the shadow. Just a simple matter of different styles.

No problem at all! There is no right and no wrong! I like our respectful discussions a lot Brent! Always a good possibility to learn how to see a photo from another point of view. And for sure I never had the feeling the your comment was too critical.

Exactly! She is really very nice, but man-eater is my new word of the day😉

Wenn ich für mich, das Bild unmittelbar unterhalb der Schulter "beschneide", also so, das vom BH nichts zu sehen ist, gefällt es mir persönlich wesentlich besser.

Aber wie alles im Leben, reine Geschmacksache. Das Prädikat: "Besser geht`s nicht", kann ich hier leider nicht vergeben, was allerdings nicht heißen soll, das das Bild insgesamt schlecht ist!

Die Geschmäcker sind verschieden Werner, da hast Du recht. Mir gefiel es so am besten. Der andere Beschnitt wäre mir zu nah. Aber dank Dir für den Vorschlag!

I am happy that you like the idea behind the photo! I also love her attitude in this photo, but in real life she is very very nice and more a musician than a model.
