rich_ Posted August 12 Share #1 Posted August 12 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi! I had a question on the SF40 flash. I wonder if i have a funky one. I puchased a used model from Goodwillfinds and i find that it only functions when the batteries are in a certain way. It takes 4 batteries where the polarity needs to be observed. But swapping the 4 batteries between (whilst observing polarity) only works in certain combinations. (so swapping the two at the front, to the back and ensuring the poles are correct) This happens both with Panasonic Enloop Pro and Duracell batteries. It feels like there is some kind of tolerance where some batteries are taller than others to hit the contacts? Has anyone else expereinced this? When it fails the lights just flash momentarily on back then do not work. So i swap the 4 round another combination and it fires up and works perfectly! Odd! Thanks in advance, Rich Edited August 12 by rich_

jaapv Posted August 12 Share #2 Posted August 12 Mine did the same.I ditched it, not being aware of the battery swapping trick. I'll have to dig it up in the unused stuff box. Thanks! rich_
