Hi everyone,

did anybody here take apart their M10? I have a slightly sticky / bit smooth shutter button and an on/off switch that could probably go easier. I am aware how to take an M9 / M240 top plate off, but I have found no info on the M10. Is it the same few screws?

Also, maybe I can solve the button issue without taking the camera apart? I’ve read about spraying some electronics contact spray into the button?

I would rather not send it in for 6 months..

I don't want to lead you in a wrong direction, but my M11 shutter  button had an issue that was solved by unscrewing it, I mean the large diameter piece next to the top plate (you may need an ad hoc key) and add a thin washer (?).

The Leica technician said the same problem occured on the M10-P, and it was the way to solve it; so I suppose both shuttter buttons on M10 and M11 are identical.

Hope it helps.

That’s interesting. I know the tool used to unscrew the top of the shutter button, maybe I’ll get one and try this before I take the top plate off.

Same principle, but on the m10 the screw in the battery compartment side isn’t hiding under the baseplate catch
