M Type 240 histogram / 90mm elmarit-m

Hi

I am really enjoying being back with Leica. I recently bought an M type 240, 35mm summilux FLE, 50mm summicron and 90mm elmarit-m after selling all of my Fuji equipment.

I would really like to use the histogram more to check exposure. Is only the tiny histogram available for preview? The larger histogram available for viewing photographs would be much nicer to use.

Also, I have a minor issue with pairing the 90mm elmarit-m. It initially brings up the 50mm/75mm framelines, which disappear when I start focussing. Has anyone experienced this? I can live with this. The lens is focussing perfectly well.

1 - If you mean histogram in LV, the tiny size is not changeable.

1.1 when viewing the image, pushing INFO button shows good size histogram

2 - when you mount the lens, does it "click" (not keeping the release button with one finger,of course) ?

2.1 if everything is done like it should, I'd just "focus" after mounting the lens, or go to Leica dealer to ask.

Your Elmarit 90/2.8 should not bring up 50/75 but 28/90 framelines instead. You may wish to check if you hear a distinct "click" when you mount the lens on the camera.

Hi The 90mm does click into place. I can live with the delay getting the correct framelines. There must be just a tiny amount of wear on the lens. The next tine I am near Wetzlar I will pop in and have them look at it.

A shame about the histogram. The small one is too small to be usable and it feels too cumbersome to have to take an image first to see a decent sized histogram.
