fotografr Posted July 17, 2023 Share #1 Posted July 17, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Fete, as it's called locally, is Madison's biggest music festival of the year and draws thousands to a large park for three and a half days of mostly Zydeco music. The accordion player shown here is Dwayne Dopsie and the guy on washboard, also a member of Dwayne's band (The Zydeco Hellraisers), is Paul Lefleur. There's a large area set up with fun activities for kids who aren't interested in watching the bands and the most popular attraction is the pool with large, clear plastic balls that allow the kids to do belly flops without even getting wet. In the first shot, the band I'm on stage with is called Flow Tribe. Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted July 17, 2023 Posted July 17, 2023 Hi fotografr, Take a look here La Fete de Marquette. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
pippy Posted July 17, 2023 Share #2 Posted July 17, 2023 Nice selection; thanks for posting. I'm guessing everyone had a wonderful time at the Fete! I'm rather partial to a bit of Clifton Chenier & Co. myself. Unfortunately Zydeco has never really taken off in the UK. Too 'Jolly' for us dour Brits perhaps?... Philip.

Since you like Clifton, I know you'd have loved this festival. There were over 30 bands and many had deep Zydeco roots. Cheers, Brent
