Thanks for the tip.  Nice and great catch!  And just like that they are all gone and probably just another year for a new run to come back in the queue for manufacturing 🙂

I’ve found one design fault.  The metal lens cap is lovely but it’s very likely to get lost if you put it on when carrying the camera and the lens hood is attached. Good idea. I’ll see if I can track that down.  My thought so far had been a bit of tape inside the rim of the metal cap to make it a tighter fit.  At the price the Apo costs, I have to say I think they could have included the nice metal ‘display’ cap AND a more secure plastic ‘working’ cap. Edited July 13, 2023 by Kiwimac

Kiwimac Posted July 13, 2023 Author Share #28  Posted July 13, 2023 I was working at the dining table today and noticed the terrier had found a sunny spot to enjoy. I do not normally spend my time photographing my dogs but since she will soon be gone and I know my wife will be very upset when that happens, I am collecting a few images to give her when the time comes. I am quite pleased with this one - the lens rendering really is very special. This is pretty low res but the full res version really shows off the lens I think. Welcome, dear visitor! calijax Posted July 13, 2023 Share #30  Posted July 13, 2023 I wasn't overly enamored by this lens when I first received it (over a year ago). However, having experienced it along with my other 35s (FLE, FLE II, and v4 pre-asph) it has become my clear favorite due to its 1) versatility* 2) ergonomics** and 3) optics. Even though this lens weighs similarly to a Summilux, the smaller barrel diameter seems to give it a much smaller feel when carried. This is really important to me, I've learned. *closest focus of the 35s **thinner barrel with shorter focus throw (normal range)

Which keeps falling off frequently? Or are the rectangular clip-on hoods?

Great ergonomics & versatility. And a subtle signature as well that pushes me to look "beyond glow" in a picture

I put it into the same category as the Noctiluxes (noctiluxi?!) as A++ rather than ‘mere’ A.
