As Leica increasingly rolls out new lens designs that focus closer than 0.7m, I figured it would be a good time to start a thread featuring images taken with these lenses. Please upload photos taken with Leica-branded M lenses with a native minimum focusing distances less than 0.7m (e.g. 35 Lux FLE II, 50 Lux Asph II, 35 APO, etc.). Images featured here should be taken at a distance less than 0.7m. Please let us know what lens you used! I'll start us off with a few taken with the 50 Lux Asph II with an M10

My local dealer has had one sat in its box on their shelf for a few months. I kept eyeing it and in the end decided to trade my Summilux 22 version in and get it. I’ve not had much opportunity to use it but in terms of build it’s definitely a step up from the already excellent usual standard. It feels precise, like a Swiss watch, in a way that most other lenses don’t quite equal. The focus action is much nicer than my Summilux was and that was nice enough. This is perfectly smooth and equals my Summilux 50 asph which the 35 Summilux did not. Size is just that bit smaller and neater on an M body and the small weight saving helps to make it a very portable and handy package, especially on the lighter black M11 body. My plan is to end up with 21, 35 and 75. The 75 will probably be next, simply because I suspect I’d use it more often than 21. I’ve shot just a few snaps around the place and the colour and contrast is excellent. When I can find the pixel size requirements to post them here, I will. The size guide used to pop up between posts in most forums but seems to be missing now.

Hi everyone, I had the luck to be next on the list for the new Apo Summicron 35mm lens and am in love with it, there is just one little thing that throws me off so far. When you pass the 0,7m distance on the focusing mount to be in the range of 0,7-0,3m focusing you have to use LV or the Visoflex to focus your shot.This is because the rangefinder cannot focus under 0,7m. That is fine, the thing is that the LV zoom option, that auto zooms in to where you set the focus cross on the screen is disabled or does not work. I thought this was a firmware issue as the lens is new but this is not the case. Now it is cumbersome, when using the amazing new close up feature of the lens, you have to manually zoom in with the thumbwheel when you turn the focus mount and anytime you lightly press the shutter to have the lv zoom out again to frame your shot you have to manually do the whole thing again to correct focus if needed. Also I usually have exposure correction set to my thumbwheel wich I now have to set to LV Zoom, so this is an additional feature I loose because of this process. Does anyone know about this issue? I would advise Leica to fix this through a FW Update so the auto Zoom is activated in any focusing range. Thank you

That took me by surprise. After registering both on the website, I found that my BP and APO had matching serial numbers with the last three digits. Long story short. I placed the order for both late October at Leica Store IFC, Shanghai. Received the M10-R about two weeks later, with no luck of picking up the APO until last weekend. Initially I didn't give a second thought because the combination doesn't mean a lot to me, but my friends who are in the Leica world for long enough told me that I should consider myself extremely lucky. 😇 What do you think?
