Good Days Leica Community

Today I noticed that there are several dust particles in the viewfinder of my Leica M10R. Of course, these have no effect on taking photos, but I still wonder how they got into the viewfinder.

Do you have any suggestions as to how this happened?
And is there a way to remove the dust particles from the viewfinder without service at Leica?

Thank you very much!

Dust in the viewfinder is possible.

You can clean it yourself in a few minutes. I would not send the camera to leica as the dust is sure to come back in a few months...

There are two screws on the bottom. One in the battery compartment and one on the opposite side (Torx).

After that, the cover can be removed very easily.

I had dust in my new M11 viewfinder, which initially bothered me because it was brand new. After some months of use (and not caring), the dust dislodged and went somewhere else. If you can live with it and can ignore it, it might well just drift somewhere else with time and use, hopefully out of sight and out of mind.
