unxsr Posted July 7, 2023 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry if it's been asked before but I couldn't find an answer to this. Is there a function on the SL where you can use APS-C L-mount lenses (digital crop or some sort)? I assume if I use my APS-C lenses I have for my TL on a SL it will look like I'm looking through a pinhole. If there is a function, would the AF work as well? Thanks. buj Posted July 7, 2023 Share #2 Posted July 7, 2023 just mount it - everything works fine! no problem at all. you will notice no difference if there es a CL lens or a L lens mounted on the camera
hoolyproductions Posted July 7, 2023 Share #3 Posted July 7, 2023 Yes, it will recognise it as a TL lens and automatically make an APS-C crop, so you will get a normal image (with less megapixels than the full frame), not a 'pinhole'.
algrove Posted August 7, 2023 Share #4 Posted August 7, 2023 (edited) I often use the 7Artisan 35 T1.05 Cine Lens L Mount lens and do not set my SL2S to APS-C mode so the camera uses the lens as a 35mm F1.0 lens. Nice feature as a work around. One gets a vignetting in the corners, but I rather like it. On this image I focused on the diagonal window brace with 3 nails. BTW, images look better on this site if you take them into your browser. Welcome, dear visitor! jaapv Posted August 7, 2023 Share #5 Posted August 7, 2023 Or just click on them(twice) to open on a new window. You do lose a lot of sharpness towards the corners.
Krusty Posted April 28 Share #6 Posted April 28 it would be interesting how the Apo-Vario-Elmar-TL 1:3,5-4,5/55-135 performs on a SL2* or SL3*... I had the opportunity to test the new Vario-Elmarit-SL 1:2,8/70-200 ASPH on the SL3-S . It is really great but it is too big and heavy for me as I am not a professional photographer and I am normally a M or Q user. But sometimes I am on sports-events and there a zoom lens would be helpful... But this is only 10% of my photography. Did anybody test this specific lens on the SL ?
