Al is a delightful man who as an Air Force enlisted man in 1955 (at age 21) he was one of several photographers assigned to photograph "Ike."  His photo of Ike and his grandson fishing on a pier at Camp David made his career, and Ike selected him to be his photographer.  Al's nearly 90 now, and as nice as can be.  I caught him looking up at a space shuttle being ferried by a special 747 to New York, where it now is an exhibit on the USS Intrepid Air & Space Museum.  He was shooting film that day and every day.
