I tested my Leica SL2 with old Nikkor manual lenses and the result was awesome. But with the size of the magnification, it was hard to find my subjections; the magnification  image was becoming too large!
I was wondering if it was possible to change the size of the magnification on SL2!

When in magnified view one of the control wheels (I forget which) allows shift among three levels of magnification.  I shot an event Saturday with the SL2 and Nikon 200mm f4 AIS.  Lightest way I've found to get to 200mm on the SL.

I think what Luke was about to say, when in magnification mode turn the dial down a notch or two to desired magnification and then exit by pressing shutter half,. The same magnification as you previously left will be applied next time. That is the way it works on the M1oM and I believe the SL's too

Thank you very much everyone for your very helpful responses. Now, it is becoming much easier for me to use a few excellent old lenses that I have from the good old time of film photography. :)

It is amazing how these old lenses work on modern digital cameras and how good the IQs are. I am glad that I kept few manual Nikon lenses.

I also have the excellent Angenieux 35-70mm with Nikon mount that, somehow, I am not using much and still is like new.
