My soul has more scratches than my m11

Its a pitty that the Q3 has not that same coating as the M11.

I can not tell you what the difference exactly is. But it is clear that there is some difference in the tactile feeling of the 2 cameras. I had hands on both cameras.

Q black cameras are anodized and not painted.

My 'new' Grade 10 pre owned M11 in black arrived today.

The finish seems very robust and is flawlessly applied so no complaints there.

The camera feels just as solid as brass ones do just a little lighter in the hand. I think my only comment on the aluminium v brass switch is that Leica probably could have marketed the change a little better.

For example, if they said "we have changed from brass to a high strength aircraft grade aluminium which is stronger than brass but 20% lighter" rather than "the black version now has an aluminium top plate which is lighter" the reception might have been more positive.

(Note - I have no idea what grade of aluminium it is - that is just an example. It might be aircraft grade or not.)

Every side of my M10-p and Monochrom is shiny because black chrome was rubbed off by straps.

 

Any strap marks on black M11 too ?

Nearly nothing. It shines very, very little on a closer look.

Nothing, but I don't use the rings, I use the anchors.

But my ISO is crossing and the on/off switch

Thank you the paint must be robust.

 

As a side effect even minor imperfections might be felt to be little bit annoying, perhaps.
