Nicely composed. I wonder who picked the wallpaper for this gallery?

A designer called India Mahdavi was commissioned to design the entire gallery spaces just for the Pierre Bonnard exhibition. As a whole the display is phenominal. Despite the cost, I will return to further enjoy (and shoot) it.

This museum may be interesting for photography, but I am not sure Bonnard, or any other painter (even “modern”) would be very happy to see his/her work exhibited in sun environment. They usually prefer plain and neutral background to show their colors and shaped, rather than busy background that “kill” them!

Louis I take your point and as a photographer this environment is a gift if one can be creative. The entire gallery, with each space differently decorated really does complement Bonnards work. I think you should attribute the shortcomings of the viewing experience in my photographs to my particular portrayal of the event. The overwhelming response from visitors, when I was there for the preview, was very positive. India Mahdavi, I should point out is a Paris based designer and (apparently)  is in high demand, if that proves anything. However, I shall be returning in the near future, probably with a different set of lenses, but I really need to 'see' the exhibition this time instead of 'shooting' it.

Without any doubt, this is a very interesting photo op. As for the presentation of Bonnard  work who is a post impressionist painter and a member of a group that considered themselves as “modernists”, I guess this is a matter of individual taste. I am sure no one in my art school would have encouraged us to present our work on those busy walls! 😅

That aside, I find your photos very interesting with nice compositions.
