I suspect a lot of people's issues are down to SD cards - either the type or the way they are formatted (or not).

Since the beginning of the M11, the many bugs were attributed to SD card type/format/etc... With the Q3 we had similar bugs and again 'probably due to SD card'. All these intermittent crashes are off course difficult to analyse by the end-user because they are intermittent and don't have a clear action->crash relation. Probably all these bugs are/were simply due to bad coded software and the SD card is/was a handy excuse.

Well, you ARE on the "Q3 Bug Reports / Freezes" thread, aren't you? I had my Q3 1 day after launch and sold it 3 months later. The buggyness and slowness of it was unacceptable. If I understand well it is a lot better now, but I still need to digest a bit before considering buying it again.

As I asked - where is the evidence of issues not covered by the use of poor SD cards or incorrect formatting I requested from you? I am not looking for an argument here just evidence. If there was an issue it is likely to affect all Q3's and not just a small number. That is the way of firmware and electronics I am told.

I used the SanDisk Extreme Pro 128GB SDXC UHS-II V90 (300MB/s) and tried a couple of others. For what I found on forums a lot of SD card testing was done with or without results, but none were very conclusive as some bugs and crashes were intermittent. And true, some people have more problems than others, for whatever reason. The question is rather to bring proof that the problems ARE with the SD card. If it was, Leica would have been glad to point out the culprit as it is the only component that's not part of the camera. Poor software coding is much more likely, EVEN IF some problems are SD card related. BTW none of my other camera's have any problem with none of my SD cards. I work in IT and can assure you that no software is bug free, so there's no blame. It's rather about the amount of problems a product has. Acceptable or not...?
