I did not get that, though I did purchase using an American Express which prompted a "SafeKey" validation where AMEX (not Leica) emailed me a code that I had to enter on the Leica checkout page to validate the card was not stolen. I've never seen that before. Seems to be some sort of special AMEX integration with whatever the commerce platform Leica uses to decrease fraud. I have to assume that this is what got me through without getting hung up on any sort of manual verification. My iPhone offered to fill the code right inline without even having to switch apps (thank you iOS 16 or 17 feature...) Happy accident I guess 🙂 I always use AMEX for online purchases. They are much easier to work with over a checking/debit card if someone tries to make unauthorized purchases.

Has your shipped yet?

Yes, it shipped the Monday or Tuesday following my post. It has arrived and it hasn't left my side since 🙂

Now I'm trying to figure out if there is any of my X-T5 & lenses that might make it's way on eBay. I do not care for decision fatigue in selecting camera gear to take with me and that was main motivation in purchasing the Q3. I don't want to think about which lenses I carry day to day. Just one solid default necessary.

Hong Kong grey market price is dropping in the rate about 4% per month ( was higher 50mm US B&H).. It is now lower than US B&H.( Available for pick up.) .  Predicted to reach HKD 40000 (USD 5150) by Chinese New Year Festival (date for New Year bonus).

Predicted to be widely available world wide after China buyers are satisfied, I.e  2024.03.

Well, well, well....B&H just shipped my Q3 (Ordered June 16)! Honestly, I didn't expect it until next year. I was hoping they'll ship it next year during the Fuji X100V successor and or a surprise Sony RX1R III announcement so I'll have more choices. Oh well, good thing B&H has a very good return policy. I'm still 50/50 on this Q3.

And then we can finally introduce the Q3/45mm 😇

Anyone able to purchase the thumb support?  I have had one on backorder since Sept.

Welp, I got lucky, I think - I ordered this third party version from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CKH5BX2S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And instead received the actual Q3 thumb grip and Leica branded screen protector (Leica original packaging, documentation, scannable codes for warranty) for both, and Leica engraving on the thumb grip....)I put the boxes away in my garage storage, but enclosed is the thumbgrip and screen protector photo on my desk...

Yes, got mine three weeks ago - after I got six times  a notification from Leica that the thumb support in black is now available for order. Five times I have been too slow and it was unavailable again. It was already a running joke between my wife and me. The sixth time I was finally fast enough and able to order and got it a few days later - it’s expensive and hard to get, but I love it.
