This is a very niche product with the highest asking price of a fixed lens camera that only takes pictures, which is less than our iPhones are able to do. Even the Leica Stores here in Germany are far from those figures and they are the core of Leica in Wetzlar and Frankfurt. Also, I think gaffe tape on the logo doesn't help much nowadays. Dedicated cameras are an excellent catch for thieves; I don't think they care if you have a Leica or Sony. That is a $570.00 savings. B&H Is the main shop people order from here in the US. I was completely stonewalled and told that’s information they do not provide to customers. Either someone is trolling on the internet sharing fake info or some of the b&h customer service people are more customer oriented than others. I need to work on my patience I suppose. I’ve never pre ordered a camera before let alone one so expensive. adrianh Posted June 19, 2023 Share #329 Posted June 19, 2023 I've been buying regularly from B&H for the last 20 years or so (after I've had some so so experiences with Abe's of Maine and some other photo dealers in Brooklyn and Manhattan). They even used to send me their printed catalogue directly to Germany. Been to them in May lately. However big they might be... they all get their Leicas from the same production lines as the others. In terms of sold Leicas: Germany is the home of Leica. A lot of Germans do buy Leicas, just for the sake of owning a high quality german product, same as rather opting for BMW, Mercedes, or Audi . So Leica has to deliver Q3s to Germany as fast as to USA. But... Leica is not Sony. The Q3 is a brand new product, with some brand new components, both mechanical and electronics. Look how Fuji struggles since end of 2022 already to deliver X100vs, and they work on another scale. I wish us all a fast delivery, but don't give to much on some sales rep BS, if it's not "your camera has shipped". I received the charging base last week and have just received shipping notification on the spare battery. Parts are trickling in. Still no word on the Q3 or grip. Canceled my Adorama order that I placed 5/27 which may not have shipped for some time judging by this thread. This is a gift for my wife which I am feeling quite jealous of at the moment but I’m looking forward to doing some test shots against my Sony A7IV and see what all the fuss is about. This is the first Leica in our home. Also, we got a leather case for it and right now it feels like it’s in the way a bit like for removing the SD card. This even happens with Apple most years, when they put new iPhones on sale. The number of people buying is massively different, but you'd expect a company that size to be able to handle it. I managed to go through the process but I got many 503 error until eventually worked, I even got an error going back to the Leica webpage after successful PayPal payment, I must confess that I started to be nervous at that point in time.
