Winedemonium Posted May 17, 2023 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) My Visoflex typ 020 has developed a fault on my M10-R black paint. When I attach the EVF it engages, but produces only a white screen within the EVF. When I take my eye away the live view screen engages, etc. However, when I put the same Visoflex onto my M10 Monochrom, it works fine. Any ideas? Anyone encountered this problem and found a fix? (I have tried checking that the contacts are clean, and switch on/off, removing the battery, etc. I have also updated firmware in the M10-R since the fault occured, and none of these has helped). Advertisement Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 Hi Winedemonium, Take a look here Visoflex typ 020 "white screen" issue. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jimofnyc Posted May 18, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 18, 2023 At least in eventually wakes up. I think these EVF are somewhat flakey. Mine just remained dark when the camera booted up. Leica NJ couldn't find any problems. So, I'd take it off the camera and wait a day or two and then viola it started working better and over the last years has been problem free. Electronics... sometimes they heal themselves...
dpitt Posted May 21, 2023 Share #3 Posted May 21, 2023 Try to clean the contacts on both the visoflex and the camera with a little bit of alcohol. HTH

HTH Thanks for this tip. I had done that already once but repeated the exercise very carefully. The Visoflex works perfectly well on my M10 Monochrom, but will not work on my M10R Black Paint, so I must now assume the problem lies with the M10R and not the Visoflex. So, I'll take the M10R into Leica....
MaticB Posted June 26, 2023 Share #5 Posted June 26, 2023 I suspect a basic construction flaw of contacts on M10R, which perhaps will be solved with the future firmwares, but I'm not sure! The same problem exist also with Visoflex 2! When happened for the first time (black-out a week after purchasing), I suspect Visoflex 2, and my dealer replace it immediately. But than happened again with the new Visoflex 2. It is now black or white - sometimes works, and then died again. Usually, when camera is switched on for a longer time, it works well, but not always! Recently I bought M11 Monochrom, which has different contact design (I suspect), and Visoflex 2 works perfectly with it. Now I'm waiting for a new firmware for M10R. I'm sure Leica know for this problem and trying immensely to resolve it. 😉
jaapv Posted June 27, 2023 Share #6 Posted June 27, 2023 Wouldn’t degreasing the contacts work? Use contact spray on s piece of filter paper and a toothpick. Don’t damage the internal ones.

charlesphoto99 Posted June 27, 2023 Share #8 Posted June 27, 2023 Its most likely the position of the contacts. Try wiggling it in different positions and see what happens. But this thread reminds me - I’ve got an 020 I should sell….
