I recall seeing sample images of the 50 APO-M on the SL and it didn’t perform very well on the SL. It’s great on the M bodies but, being an older lens, it really needed the micro lens structure of the M sensor to perform at its best.

APO SCs are class leading and the only reason to buy into the SL system IMHO. Nothing else like them on the market, incredible resolution wide open, fantastic bokeh and all without losing that cinematic look, consistently delivered between lenses of each focal length.

I've only worked with the 35mm Apo SL (it was a rental). Best 35mm I've ever tried. And a solid reason to invest on an SL3 next year.

...and why Leica would only be doing themselves a favor by getting the wide angles out the door and a few telephotos beyond 90 mm. 135/180/300 for example.

I just bought an apo135. Not Leica, but Zeiss ZE, which will need to do until Leica comes….
