Comicon, and as usual, I have no idea who she is supposed to be.

Some great pics.

My friend Henry is an expert, doing marvellous cosplay in Singapore, where it's very popular. And now Sydney. He has many thousand Cosplay images.

One thing I've noticed is the importance of choosing a bland background, if possible. After all you're focusing on the main actor not distracting elements.

But  not to detract, some superb pics in this series.

Had the chance to attend a workshop for cosplay photography yesterday with a couple resembling some characters from „House of the Dragon“. Thanks go out to the @germancosplaycouple (Instagram), @eosandy (Instagram) and Fotomeyer Berlin. Shot with the new Leica Q3 43:

If any of you are shy about asking people for photos, start with people who clearly want to be noticed.  This is by Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan.  Another woman on the street was trying to sneak a photo of her, but my asking her brought her delight and a pre-thought pose.  D2

That is really cool and captures the vibe of the series quite well! And it's something I recognise, so bonus points for that :D

Very true. They usually take it as a compliment if you approach them and are always super happy when you send them the results afterwards. Cons can be a bit stressful for some (i. e. girls in revealing costumes) because always a ton of “photographers” who want to take their picture. But if you avoid the crowds, these events are enormous fun!

You don't even have to pay the entry fee, you can always find loads of people outside who are happy to take a picture before they go in or after they leave.

Standing outside the entrance is the only way I've been to Comicon and Mangacom.  the only downside is having to use available light and backgrounds.
