fotografr Posted April 12, 2023 Share #1  Posted April 12, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) This couple was at the weekly street fair in downtown Palm Springs and they were so enthralled by the song being played by a street musician I figured it must have some special meaning to them. Guest Posted April 12, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted April 12, 2023 Charming. On another, completely unrelated note, as someone from the Madison WI area, you may want to check out Joel Bernstein's pictures of Joni Mitchell skating on Lake Mendota back in 1976. The Scott Nichols Gallery up in Sonoma has three of these intriguing pictures on its website. T

HansiMustermann Posted April 12, 2023 Share #5 Â Posted April 12, 2023 For my taste, too much editing has been done to this image. The couple looks like they were pasted into the photo. Sorry, but I assume the people have been brightened and sharpened too much.
Lelmer Posted April 12, 2023 Share #6 Â Posted April 12, 2023 If you look at the shadows, there is light coming from their left (right of the photo). The musician's leg is also brightened by the same source of light.

The people were mostly brightened by the available light on the street, however I did selectively dodge to make them slightly lighter. As for the sharpening, you'll have to put the blame on the Leica lens. The reason the couple stands out, or looks "pasted in," is that I was using a 90mm lens wide open and was fairly close to them. You'll note that the DOF is very shallow. Cheers, Brent

Her outfit is perfect. Thanks!
