Panda428 Posted March 21, 2023 Share #1 Posted March 21, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone as a newbie of Leica M world, new ‘issues’ coming up 😄 Wondering if you guys can help me out of this. So basicly I bought a voigtlander 28mm f2 type II, found something after I mounted it on my M8. 1. when I turn the focus ring between the range of 0.5-0.6 meter, the focusing patch will not move, it starts moving after 0.6 meter. 2.as long as I mounted this lens, the frame line lever will no longer movable, is that normal? thank you guys! from a Leica freshman 😄 Welcome, dear visitor! Guest Posted March 21, 2023 Share #2 Posted March 21, 2023 Rangefinder minimum focus distance is 0.7m - this is a limitation of the mechanism in the camera, not the lens.

And as for the fame lever not working I think the problem is you kept your finger on the lens release button while mounting the lens, this causes it to rotate past centre and not engage properly with the frame line ‘switch’. Let the lens click into place on its own.

Not 0.7m anymore from M10. The M10 is capable of closing to 0.6m.

The M10 is capable of closing to 0.6m. We are talking about M8. I use happily for years my M8's RF to 48cm with DR Summicron + SDPOO. Even if this lens is not M8 compatible, it's useable with the goggles as usual, RF from 90cm to 48cm. Without SDPOO, RF focus to about 10m. Mounting this DR lens can be done ( mandatory ! ) when I set the focus ring to about 1.5m.
