This is interesting.  I went from the SL2 to the SL2S even with the reduced pixel count, I prefer the dynamic range of the SL2-S.  I wonder if the sensor size and the fact that the SL2-S is more tuned for video means this does not happen except with the SL2.

I'll review mine as well (most current firmware and reporter edition, should not matter).

Yes, I only tested with AF lens. It very well can be SL2 specific as processor need to do more calculations.

It happens with both prefocus on and off. But really once you're trying to focus - resolution drops and picture looks ugly. I've looked in manual and they didn't even mention it.

You can also try with AF-C, i think it is even more noticeable in this mode.

This is one of the reasons I kept SL 601 and returned SL2, i wanted 120fps, but it is useless

I suspect the processor or overall system is not fast enough to display 120 fps at full resolution. Or it should consume less power.

Yep, most likely the case, unfortunately Leica did not mention it anywhere as far as I can see...

Hi Ravi, I think it is a sample issue. Mine is sharp as can be.

cheers, Lars

Had a second look based on other people findings.  I only use AF-S and MF.  Doesn’t matter whether it is 60 or 120, both sharp. In iAF and AF-C both in 60 and 120 unsharp.

I have just spent the afternoon with the SL2-S, EVF at 120 and focus set to iAF - it doesn’t happen. I suspect this is a way for the SL2 to deal with reducing a hi res sensor to EVF resolution.

Ok, so for anyone interested there are two separate issues with resolution loss:

 - You get resolution loss if you select 120, very visible on diagonal lines. I can confirm this issue is present of SL2, SL2-s and apparently even SL3.

- AF-C and AF-I is different type of blur, it looks like DFD jitter causes it. Image is blurry while the button half pressed and lens constantly trying to acquire focus.  I can confirm this issue is present of SL2, SL2. I haven't tested SL3 yet, but I'll do soon and will report here.
