When I broke my SL2-S last year I went via the original vendor. They were highly responsive, negotiated a replacement camera with Leica for me and then handed me over to a Leica representative. I had the replacement within a few days and the repaired camera within few weeks (I had to pay, of course, I had accidentally launched the camera towards a concrete floor 😊). I guess they can't always be consistent but it confirmed to me that it's good to go with a vendor  is willing (and able) to follow up like this. 

This was all EU based.

Thinking back to my previous leica digitals...

M8, shutter fault (remember that?) and IR filters and coffee screen (remember that?)

M9, faulty lens reader, corroded sensor.

MM, corroded sensor

SL, faulty motherboard corrupting JPGs

M11, so far few bugs but nothing major, apart the VISO

SL2S, all works fine!

So, it would appear that the ONLY ever digital leica I had with no issues was the SL2S to date...

M11 not too bad as issue was with VISO.

all others some major problem at some stage.

Not as many failures as you, but still too many.  M8 needing IR filters etc, M9 and MM sensor failure and an MD that choose 6400 ISO when set to 800.  All other ISO settings were OK.

I now have just Q2M and M10R, and both have been fine.  I have been buying Leica cameras and regularly upgrading for more years than I can count, but will not consider the M11 and will not swap Q2M for M11M when it eventually ships.

There is no question: If this is an exception in the case of your M11, i.e. this type of error only occurs with very, very few users - then it would be wiser of Leica to settle this individual case unbureaucratically and replace the camera completely. If Leica does not do this, we must unfortunately assume that such major failures occur more frequently and that they therefore do not want to set any precedents. It could get expensive...
