Yohann, this is a great set of images full of action with great colors and IQ. What camera did you use!

I am well familiar with strikes in France that did encourage me to leave my beloved country and Paris, the most beautiful city on earth! The syndicates are too powerful and  selfish, ignoring often the national interests…. Well; France will always remain France that I love! ;)

A superb set, individually and as a group.   #2 & #7 are my favorites.  I've only been impacted by strikes in France two times, but Barbara, who lived in Paris while studying for her masters in French literature experienced more.  At the opposite end of this current demonstration is the required retirement, I think at 65.  A dear friend and forum member who was a revered orthopedic surgeon had to stoop practicing, only because he turned 65.

Hi guys! Hi Louis 😉

Thank you very much for everything you’ve written here on my photos. It’s very encouraging—

It is always a bit difficult to experiment with certain strikes, I understand that people can be affected. At the same time, I know how the struggle for social rights has made this country great, more equal than any other... It is a difficult time to live but it helps (I think) to protect our advanges. And strikes are really good for photographers! 😉

Yohann

PS/ Louis, I'm using a Leica M240 and a Summicron 35mm f/2 3rd version !
PS2/ Sorry for my really bad english, I promise to improve it quickly

True, true and true!….
As we shouldn’t  discuss political issues in this photography site, I just say I wasn’t feeling comfortable when  the garbage trucks were on strikes for weeks and the streets of Paris were full of garbage and smelled bad; or, when ambulance drivers are on strike; … and I can go on about the most important and obvious parts of a normal life being paralyzed by the extreme left!… But anyway… lol

But I agree about the photo ops; even here in Miami ( and before in Washington DC ) I am always participating in every demo to shoot and often  supporting some causes. :)

Demonstrations offer great opportunities for documentary photography but equally are quite hard to photograph. You have to get in there -- amongst the people and the action. Which is what you have done, Yohann, and to great effect. I like many of these but #6, 8 and the final one are excellent.

Here is the result !

You have a good eye! A very well photographed set of images. Your images pull the observer right into where the action is. Thank you for sharing these photographs.

As to the cause of the strike, I live in a country where you have to work until the age of 67 to be eligible for pension, and so I do not have too much emphathy for people "en colère" because the president of France wants to raise the official retirement age to 64, which would still be 3 years earlier than in my country.

Thanks !

I know what you mean. And I don't want to work until 67 ! I want to take pictures ! 😉 But, as I often say to my children "don't look in your neighbor's plate either if someone lives worse/worth than you". Because in this case, we can always say " don't yel, look what is happening in Africa, most of countries do not have pension system..."

But no politic here even if politic is everywhere  😅

(Hope I'm clear with my bad english, I don't want to offense someone...)

No offence taken, I know exactly what you mean, and I have actually thought that you would respond along those lines. If you ask me, I don't want to have to work even until 64, but the money for my pension has to come from somewhere, and if many people in a country stop working early, this means that other, fewer people have to work a lot longer to generate all the money needed for the early pensioners. Unless of course you have that magical tree which grows money every year and you only have to harvest the money every season 🙂.

I like the Sortie d'Usine sign with the grandmother walking with a cane image in the first batch. It says everything you need to know.
