Advertisement Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Hi SJH, Take a look here Sigma 50mm 1.4 DG DN coming for the SL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
huwm Posted January 25, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted January 25, 2023 I'll be interested in giving it a go when it arrives I have the 35 and 85 already and am very happy(I'm very much a hobbyist though) despite the ever present Leica SL APO 'GAS itch' Will it displace my only SL prime, doubt it but if it did I could free up funds for a wee wide zoom like the new Panasonic 14-
insomnia Posted January 25, 2023 Share #3 Â Posted January 25, 2023 it's a bit long for my taste (physical dimensions) and even a bit heavier than the excellent 85/1.4. Presuming it's an important lens for Sigma (and they've set a good example with the last DSLR 50/1.4) I'd assume it will be plenty good. Still pretty compact compared to the Lumix 1.4 and the Summilux-SL. So I'll definitely get one and add it as a AF alternative to my Summilux-M. profus Posted February 8, 2023 Share #5 Â Posted February 8, 2023 How is it differing from existing 50 f1.4 Art HSM L-Mount Sigma lens?

Size, weight, built for mirrorless, first use of a linear motor making autofocus quieter and more accurate, reportedly,  lockable aperture ring with click/de-click options, programmable button sure there is more but that's just off the top of my head. BernardC Posted February 8, 2023 Share #7 Â Posted February 8, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sigma's product page says that it features lower coma and flare, and improved wide-open performance, as well as smaller size, faster AF, etc.

Yes, I expect focus to be faster on L mount cameras too.
