Hello,
I found an old Leica AF-C1 from my
father in the basement and put in
new film and a new battery. Now
the camera doesn't want to trigger.
But the telefunction works and you
can see something on the top of
the screen. Unfortunately, I don't
know anything about analogue
cameras. Can someone help me
there? Thank you very much and much greetings:)

I don’t know what you have done but off-white letters on a white background are not readable. Please use the default.

It sometimes happens if you copy paste from another source, rather than writing directly - one has to remember to remove the inherited formatting.

It's very difficult to deal with such an issue on a forum, without pictures or videos. You'd be best advised to take it to a camera shop, or find someone near you with good experience of film cameras. This is essentially a 30 year old Minolta camera, reengineered by Leica.

All right I will do that. Thank you:)

Does the shutter fire with the 'flash off' button held down? This guy hacked his camera to set this permanently, so the camera now works but the flash still doesn't:

Don't know if it will help but you can get a copy of the instructions here, https://www.butkus.org/chinon/leica/leica_af-c1/leica_af-c1.htm, it has a section at the end for trouble shooting problems.

The other thing to check, is if the film loaded properly as it won't fire if it isn't but all the other functions will work, at least it doesn't on mine anyway.
