f22photographie Posted January 14, 2023 Share #1  Posted January 14, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, As a Leica aficionado since circa 1966, I am in the process of helping a fellow Leica aficionado's widow sort his many pieces of Leica equipment ready for disposal either on eBay or to a dealer.  I came across this interesting item, code name XW OOT, and have no idea what it actually does or ditto its worth.  Good old Google seems to have drawn a blank on this one, hoping someone on the forum can shed some light on it for us ! Many thanks in anticipation, Mike.  Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! alan mcfall Posted January 14, 2023 Share #2 Â Posted January 14, 2023 A focus mount, for using the 50/3.5 Elmar on the later 51mm thread focoslides. Around 1958.
f22photographie Posted January 15, 2023 Author Share #3 Â Posted January 15, 2023 Hi Alan, Â Many thanks for your speedy reply. There is a 50mm f/3.5 Elmar in his collection, so at least I know what it does - probably best to sell separately, one never knows, someone might be on the lookout for such a device ! Best wishes, Mike Jackson.

Good old Google seems to have drawn a blank on this one Where did you get the code XWOOT?  I can't find that code in any of my Leica books. VXOOT is on the focusing mount.  When I search Google for "VXOOT", I get meaningful hits including: https://www.google.com/books/edition/Leica_Accessory_Guide/hpcEp9408hgC?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq="VXOOT"&pg=PA63&printsec=frontcover You have two parts screwed together.  The sliding stage is probably OOBAZ; the focusing mount to use a 50mm f3.5 Elmar lens on the sliding stage is VXOOT, as Alan indicated.
f22photographie Posted January 15, 2023 Author Share #5 Â Posted January 15, 2023 Hi, Typo for the model number, (also known as faulty fingers !), you are correct with VXOOT. Â I've no idea of its worth, so I'll initially put it up on the sales section of the Leica Forum and see what happens. Best wishes, Mike Jackson. wlaidlaw Posted January 17, 2023 Share #7  Posted January 17, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Some of these weirder Leica accessories seem to have little value or desirability. I bought a box of assorted stuff at an auction sale. Sadly it appeared to have been stored in somewhat damp conditions so quite a bit in less than mint condition but some bits had obviously been added later. I tried to give away some of the Leica items like an ELDIA contact printer, in acceptable condition and all working - no interest. A boxed Leica BEHOO set of legs and close up lenses, some parts for the XADEE copying stage, again no interest at all. The only part I managed to give away was a microscope reflex attachment for a Berning Robot camera to a forum member. Wilson

The sliding stages (Focoslide/Focaslide) seem to have been made in vast numbers. Â I don't see a lot of interest in collecting Leitz close-up / copying / technical equipment. Â Thus the supply far exceeds the demand. Â I find the weirder Leica accessories to be very interesting because there is so little information on them.
