lambroving Posted August 19, 2006 Share #5 Posted August 19, 2006 Ron, SUPER light and perspective in the first one! Crop just a very tiny bit off the right? How did you get in there? Charles looks much better in this edit too, BTW. As a former ITV cameraman in Afghanistan during the civil war, I think he would like it.

ddp Posted August 19, 2006 Share #9 Posted August 19, 2006 Now...I have been sitting on the fence as to whether a 24 or 21 is my next slip into oblivion.... Ron, I believe you have pushed me closer to the 24. Fantastic work. Really nice stuff.
andybarton Posted August 19, 2006 Share #10 Posted August 19, 2006 So much more than just cars. Thanks for posting these, Ron.
stunsworth Posted August 19, 2006 Share #11 Posted August 19, 2006 Yup these are far better than the Autotrader shots that have been dominating recently. The tonal range does look a bit odd though on both my Mac and PC. The ice-cream van has something very strange going on with the woman leaning into the van. There's what appears to be a strong glow around her shoulder bag - it reminds me of an effect I used to get with my LS-30 when it had a dusty mirror. Also there are a couple where it's sunny, but the overall impression is too dark for this - I'm thinking of the couple sitting down watching the track, there seems to be a loss of shadow detail. This might be caused by Scala - a film I've never used. But, thanks for sharing these

But, thanks for sharing these I'm getting the same effect with a G5 and Spectraview 1980 - its similar to the effect I used to get with overexposure on 1960s monochrome film such as HP3. stuny Posted August 19, 2006 Share #13 Posted August 19, 2006 Ron - I think it is remarkable that you've created a vintage feel to the photos considering the subject matter.
Guest agnoo Posted August 19, 2006 Share #14 Posted August 19, 2006 The sildes are good, i was just in a "vintage mood", forgive me (some know that i can scan Scala) plus my desktop-monitor is adjusted a little brighter than normal

andybarton Posted August 19, 2006 Share #18 Posted August 19, 2006 99% of the crowd seem to be "of a certain age". Just like the Van Morrison concert I went to last night More crackers, Ron.
stunsworth Posted August 19, 2006 Share #19 Posted August 19, 2006 I went to a Van Morrison/Bob Dylan a few years ago. Suprising how many people liked one and not the other. The strangest combination was a concert I went to in Paris in 2002. Neil Young supported by Oasis. Not many of the Oasis fans stayed for the second half :-)
