Never heard about or seen, wouldn't think this is a general/known problem. And it shouldn't happen, clearly. Need a trip to Wetzlar to be fixed, implying some time without that body. As professional, you may get a body for loan in between, check with your store or national representative.

I ordered another one right after posting this, but I'll check the Leica store tomorrow and see if that's an option. I've never heard of a loaner program through Leica though.

You should contact Leica service in NJ since you are in the US.

Thanks for the tip, I'll ask. I got them through Leica SF, they're super kind and seem to have a lot of weight in the Leica world. We'll see!
