Thx :-)

I used a B+W Yellow -green 060 filter, and stitched two shots (1/90, f:6.7 @ ISO 400) for a square in PTGUi.

For conversion, I prefer Photo Ninja to LR because of superior handling of highlights, and at least equal tonal quality and detail. For each shot, a double conversion: one for the sky, and one for the foreground, merged in CS3 with grad mask and brush. The foreground had to be pushed about 1,5 EV, exposure was for the sky.

Loving seeing everyone's M Monochrom shots. Some superb work. Here are a couple I've taken around Glasgow.

Both MM, and 50 Lux ASPH (I know the detail is blown on the paving slabs of the first image).

Best regards all,

Colin

Colin,

#2 reminds me of a Brassai. (A very good thing!)

there really was no way to avoid blowing these details, to preserve the subject detail.

sunlight + shade shots are really the most challenging for the MM. I find there's no alternative to some blown highlights, to capture shadowed areas.

Can I remind everyone of the maximum size of images shown on the forum please?

Forum rules are that all images must be 960 pixels or less on the longest edge and 300kb or less in size, unless you are a Sponsoring Member, in which case the limit is 600kb.

This includes shots linked to from outside the foum.

Thank you.
