Not to get into it with you. What you see in my images is exactly what I was after. They show the mood of the street, what I felt that day. 40 yearsas a photographer or not, your image shown above is flat, lifeless, uninteresting. The epitome of why people out there are saying the camera produces only very grey monochromatic imagesHermes saddle in a stairwell, hohum. Any image of yours on any of the Leica sites?

Anyway, I like my images to push the outer limits of shadow and highlight.

Wow handheld. My suggestion to you, M 9 and just hi the desaturated button. Why even have the camera.

Nik Software has me inboard as a presenter. I would be happy to help you with the software.

I rather like the grungy look, although I would have used the sharpening more sparingly. But those are personal choices. The point is that the MM files contain so much that every kind of end result can be obtained. Ain't life great?:)

Lots of wonderful shots here like the one above. Excellent tones and IQ. Thank you all for posting. I can see that this digital M produces slightly sharper images than the M9 but convinced that my M8 can easily compete, except of course with regards to file size and inferior ISO at the higher numbers. Other than that, not much different -- which to me means that Leica's signature stamp remains pretty much the same. The price tag is another matter. Having said that, if it were within my means, I would purchase one!

I agree with you on the M8 as far as I can judge the MM from the images on a screen. Interesting to see what this would do in print. I once compared a print from an M8 with a Summaron 35 with one from an M9 with the latest S'lux 50 and could not see any difference , whereas I do see that the M8 is slightly sharper on screen

Not the best way to use the MM, but a first try. Used the GXR with M Mount to focus and then put MM on Novoflex adapter for this shot. Used the R APO 4/280 lens in stiff winds and colder than I like. ISO 2500 at 1/45th f4 or 5.6 can't remember since I was shivering too much.
