I just got my 28 Summicron back from the local repair shop, and it's nice to have it back. They had taken it apart and rebuilt it because it was disassembling itself again. They say they've used a good bit of Locktite on the threads, so hopefully it'll hold for a few years. Great lens that, but the way it's put together is surprising. That's the second rebuild - the first was by Leica - it's required in the 11 years I've owned it. No amount of careful handling can quell its desire to fall apart.

Really beautiful shot, Colin. There's a very inexpensive solution to your 28 Summicron problem; VC 28mm Ultron II asph. I have one and it's a spectacular performer with a solid build.

Hey, thanks. Yes, I've heard many a good report on the VC 28mm Ultron 2 aspherical. I guess I've just spent £150 on the rebuild, so I'll treat the Summicron very, very gingerly - as ever - and hope it holds up for a few years yet.

I like to think of it as my Bonnie Tyler lens. Every now and then it falls apart. The joke wears thin after one telling, though.

Not to be a Parade-Rainer but this is, specifically, the subforum for users of the original 2012 - 2015 M Monochrom ('Henri' / M9M / MM / whatever) cameras.

For those using M11M bodies (or anything which came after the M9M) you have the choice of several other dedicated sub-fora for posting your photographs. I don't want to come across as an arse but in a sub-forum dedicated, specifically, to photographs taken on the first generation of M Monochrom cameras I do not wish to see stuff shot using anything else.

I do hope that seems fair. Thanking you in advance.

Philip.

Sorry. I am Italian and thought that the topic of the forum was related to FIRST shots of Monochrom cameras, not to first generation of them. In fact, I posted my shot number 3 and nothing else.
have fun!

No need to apologise, Andrea, as it is an easy mistake to make.

Best wishes and have fun with your Monochrom!

Philip.
