Today's Scottish Independence, anti-Brexit march. Thought I'd experiment with high contrast.

Hard to see, but this hawk has a dead squirrel in its talons.

OK, the MM1 has a CCD sensor, thus no Live View, thus no telephoto lens nor EVF, which begs the question, Brent:  Were you that close or did you crop heavily?  Either way, very impressive.

Ha! Me crop? Okay, I did. But not a lot. The hawk tried to fly with the dead squirrel but it was too heavy so I got a few shots off from very close range. It finally flew into a tree as I walked by, then quickly returned to finish it's meal. Below is a shot of the hawk trying to fly with the squirrel.

Hard to see,

He hides it to prevent it being stolen by other predators 😄  Both are great shots! With this IQ in b&w it hardly matters that it’s not in color

Thanks, Brent. I've undertaken a year-long project documenting "my patch" of this river in all weathers.

Maybe it's time to have a chat with a local gallery curator? I think you'd likely have a smashing exhibition.

I also live not too far away from it. It's lovely to see how it changes through the year.
