Fantastic image Wilfredo!

I love how the back wall has texture and range but fades away to highlight the main part of the image. Just great!

I previously “upgraded” my beautiful chrome MM1 to the M246 but just never got on with it.

After two years, I repurchased an MM1 in black and am happy again.

May I ask which lens was used for your image? I am currently using a post war Sonnar.

Thanks Hugo. I won't part with this camera. Just yesterday I played with the M10, took a few shots with it of the saleman at the Leica store in Manhattan, loved the colors, but when I converted the file to B&W, it just didn't do it for me. I used a 50mm Lux, Asph. This gentleman was sitting on an 18th century church pew with a very high back. I used a Metz flash for this shot with a Gary Fong attachment to diffuse the light. Using the flash is a new experience for me.

I've made some terrific b/w prints starting with the M10 (and the M8.2 and M240 before that). Sometimes it takes some time to develop a workflow that maximizes the capabilities of all the parts (from camera and lens to printer and display).

Having said that, I've found a source for the MM, with replaced sensor, for about $3k or so. At that price I think I might get one so I can dedicate time to see if I can incorporate it into my workflow for even better print results. Nothing to lose at that cost... and it might be fun to get back into an all-b/w mindset again after giving up film and darkroom in 2009.

I so like getting back to using this MM1. Did not like the M246 as much as this one and then sold it and did not use a Monochrome fater the sensor issue was ongoing without resolve. Picked up this MM1 with its retrun from leica all ready for renewed use.  Yesterday first try with it.

Edit: I see most of my images are projecting on this site about 1-2 stops dafrker than I have processed them. Sorry, as I forgot to brighten this file before downloading it here.
