e1k3 Posted January 3, 2023 Share #1 Â Posted January 3, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) The pictures on Leica Homepage seem to indicate, that for new MP cameras the "sharkskin" leatherette (which I never liked) was recently substituted by a leatherette that looks simimlar to M-A, M6 2022 reissue and M11. Can anybody confirm, who recently acquired a new MP? Thanks.

jnero Posted January 3, 2023 Share #6 Â Posted January 3, 2023 You can see what the flavors are like. I was currently looking for one with sharskin so that it doesn't look like any other M.
madNbad Posted January 3, 2023 Share #7 Â Posted January 3, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) At one time Hugo Studios offered stingray leather as a replacement cover. I don't know if they still do but it had to be installed using contact cement.
Huss Posted January 3, 2023 Share #8 Â Posted January 3, 2023 The sharkskin is actually grippier than the other finishes.

Which is absurd because the total whale oil Leica would consume over, say, a decade, could come from a single divot out of a single whale. Â But yeah, save the planet ...
