Bill W Posted October 16, 2007 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) After reading that others had already received their Noctilux and had ordered theirs after me, I started inquiring through Leica. I emailed Solms and got a response the next day that my lens had in fact been shipped to Leica USA on the 21st of September. They even included a serial number. It is now the 16th of October and nothing. I emailed someone in NJ they recommended so we will see. I just wonder why it would take so long, almost a month from the time it was shipped from Germany. Perhaps I should post the serial number here and see if it went to someone else!!!!!!!!!
Advertisement Posted October 16, 2007 Posted October 16, 2007 Hi Bill W, Take a look here 30% Discount Lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Daniel Ortego Posted October 16, 2007 Share #2 Posted October 16, 2007 OK, I’m too new to know how Leica operates although I often import things from Europe. In many cases, clearing customs have stalled my receivables. As a rule, I never post complete serial numbers of products I purchase. It's for the reasons I can't imagine that would bother me. canlogic Posted October 16, 2007 Share #3 Posted October 16, 2007 I emailed Leica to get a status on my lens. Turns out they either lost or never received the forms I sent in. I photocopied them before sending so they told me to fax or email the forms and they would take care of it. So if you haven't heard anything for awhile it might be an idea to check. gesper Posted October 16, 2007 Share #4 Posted October 16, 2007 Last time my M8 came back from Solms, it got hung up in Customs for two weeks, so that could be the issue. On the other hand, on the way to Solms it got overlooked in the NJ warehouse for several weeks. I would keep emailing NJ and ask for a tracking number when they ship it. That worked for me for my discount Noctilux.
Bill W Posted October 16, 2007 Author Share #5 Posted October 16, 2007 I take back the bad things I have said about Leica. I received an email from Leica NJ. They do have my Noctilux but the credit card info they received from Germany had one number transposed. I called Leica NJ and talked to Vicki Valenti. We got the credit card issue corrected and I was able to get the lens shipped to my office rather than my home where it would just sit on the front porch till I got home. No telling how long it would take fo rthem to contact me but I suppose they are taking care of those that they can get out the door quickly. Here is the person in Solms to email. carstenw Posted October 19, 2007 Share #11 Posted October 19, 2007 Mine was ready two days ago, but my credit card didn't have enough room, so I got an email. I ordered after the deadline (chose a discontinued lens first). If anyone did not get their Noctilux yet, it should be there any time now.
canlogic Posted October 19, 2007 Share #12 Posted October 19, 2007 Leica were very helpfull. I had copies of everything so they had me scan them and email to them. Got a reply this morning saying I should have my lens in about 4 weeks.
hdrmd Posted October 19, 2007 Share #13 Posted October 19, 2007 I queried Leica by e-mail, givimg my order # and noting that it had been 4 months. Their reply was that they were very busy. I was surprised at the lack of response, but I will forget all about it once the lens arrives. DR
