lct Posted December 26, 2022 Share #1  Posted December 26, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just received a 7artisans LM-L close focus adapter from Amazon (79 EUR in France). Allows for using M lenses on L-mount cameras at about 20cm closer distance than MFD depending upon the focal length of the lens. Contrary to Elpro or similar optical adapters screwed into the filter thread of the lens, there are not optics in close focus adpters that are just rings with helicoids to adjust the distance between the lens and the camera.   Don't expect the same quality as Leica or Voigtlander adapters with the 7art. My copy has some play in the mounts so lenses wobble a bit when mounted on it. Accuracy is not critical though since focusing is achieved through the lens. The focus ring of the adapter is a bit stiff but fairly well damped and it allows to focus all the way from reduced MFD to infinity together with the focus ring of the lens. The adapter is not 6-bit coded so coded lenses are treated as uncoded ones on the digital CL. Focus magnification cannot be triggered with the top dials of the camera but the arrows can do the trick as usual with uncoded adapters. Couple of snaps below to show what the adapter can do at about 30cm focus distance with a CV 35/2 asph, handheld, details in exif data. I'll do a couple more test pics with FLE 35mm and 50mm lenses when time permits. Happy snaps and merry Xmas to all 🎅. Welcome, dear visitor! BrettWayne Posted January 19, 2023 Share #3  Posted January 19, 2023 Yes thank you for sharing!  How was the fit to the CL body?

Sample variation is to consider on inexpensive accessories like this though.
gradycarter Posted August 4, 2024 Share #5  Posted August 4, 2024 I have bought the 7Artisans LM-NZ close focus adapter and everything fits well with all my lenses. The only problem is that I can't achieve focus past 30 feet. It may be sample variation, but, I have to send it back because when shooting scenes, I can get sharp focus at infinity. It's great for shooting portraits. Has anyone had that problem!!!
lct Posted August 4, 2024 Author Share #6 Â Posted August 4, 2024 Which lenses are you using the adapter with when the problem occurs? Do such lenses focus normally all the way to infinity when they are mounted on the CL without adapter? Just to understand your issue.

In my situation, I bought the 7Artisans LM-NZ close focus adapter, for my newly bought Nikon ZF Camera. My lenses are the Voigtlander 35mm f2, 28mm f2, Leica 50mm f2 Summicron and my Leica/Minolta M 40mm f2. They all focus to infinity when being used with my TechArt Leica M to Sony FE adapter on my Sony A7iii & A7Riii cameras..!!!
lct Posted August 5, 2024 Author Share #8  Posted August 5, 2024 The 7artisans adapter seems to be the culprit then but i have no experience with your Nikon body and i don't know how it behaves with M-mount manual lenses sorry.
