Just got my M11, still waiting for my 35mm 1.4 FLE to arrive.

What other accessories do you recommend?

straps, bags, cards, and cases, would love some input.

What I got (in case it gives you some ideas):

Strap: Hawkesmill (https://hawkesmill.com/product-category/camera-straps/) - amazing quality IMO. Super soft and pliable leather.

Bag: Billingham (pick your size - I got a Stowaway Compact and plan to get a Small Hadley Pro as well)

Case: I used Chuncraft on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/chuncraft?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1156520378). Great quality, great fit, fast shipping.

Also got a Visoflex 2, mini air blower, LensPro Micro-Pro, LCD screen protector, B+W filter for the lenses.

And if you enjoy post-processing, I bought a bunch of profiles from Cobalt.

I love this soft release button from Komaru far more than I should.  It feels more purposeful some how.

Sony tough cards have been effortless for me.

Congrats!

Got the Leica leather strap, the one that came in the box started to wear off with minimal use. Handgrip – as mentioned – is another option, I prefer the good ole neck strap.

Else? A minimalist small bag / pouch so that the cam is always with you.

Can vouch for the Sony Tough cards, too. They'll probably last longer than the camera.

And of course one lens that you really love. Am a one-lens shooter, mainly. Less can be more!

BTW, same here, was watching since the first digital M and finally pulled the trigger. No regrets, well worth the wait!

Thumb Grip (Haoge THB-M10B)

Soft Release - (Take you pick)

Gordy leather wrist strap

Rubber USB socket plug to plug the Usb socket when not in use

Visoflex 2 EVF

Delkin Back UHSII SD Card(s)

Don't mess up the beautiful minimal appearance of the M11 with too many accessories attached! Just use it as is!

I initially started with soft releases and stuff. At the end of the day, I removed everything again 😉

Feels weird with all that 3rd party non leica stuff attached! Always reminds me of these kids back in the days who added lights and crazy things to their big desktop computer towers to make them look like cars from fast and the furious ;)

Maybe a Visoflex if you need an EVF.

Leica M11 Handgrip.

It makes the camera so easy to handle. Not cheap, but well worth it in my opinion.

Agreed. I also +1 for the Leica Handgrip. It is also Arca Swiss compatible which make it so easy for mount on to my tripod.

Insurance! And, a good 35mm lens and half case for protection.

I bought the Leica version of half case as, unfortunately, my Leica M10 half case doesn't fit the M11 because the tripod socks is located differently on the M11. I just got the Oberwerth half case because it is very nice with the red stitching on black leather and it has a pocket for an Apple AirTag in the battery access flap. Very smart!

Coming from the M10-R and M10 before that, I didn't need to buy any new lenses. My "travel" lens is the Leica APO-Summicron 35mm. However, I just ordered the new Leica Summilux 35mm. My next most used lens is the Leica APO-Summicron 50mm.

Good luck with you new M11. It's awesome!

Bud James

Harry Benz strap (my Hawkesmill strap is now on my Q2)

Arte de Mano half case - in black so that it is not noticeable but has just enough of a grip at the front to make it easier to hold the camera.

Expert Shield screen protector

Extra battery

64 GB SanDisk Pro UHS-II (the 300 MB/s one). You don’t need a UHS-II card but I had one to hand

Billingham Hadley Pro 2020. Overkill for a one camera, one lens combination (I only have a 50mm Summicron) but gives me plenty of space for a rain jacket, bottle of water etc. Again, I had bought this for use with my Q2 so I use it whenever taking either camera out.

Peak Design 3l sling. Once again, already bought for use with the Q2 but much better suited for the M11 with its smaller lens. I use this when I don’t want to go out with a big bag but still want to be able to put the camera away occasionally.

A bunch of Urth neutral density filters (I’m mainly a landscape photographer) to allow me to take those cliched pictures of smoothed waterfall whenever I want.

A B+W infra-red 830nm and a Hoya 720nm infrared filter (I also do a lot of infrared photos)

I picked up a few items

  1. Sony 64GB Card
  2. Leica HandGrip
  3. Leica Screen Protector (installation did not go well ordering another brand )
  4. Peak Design Slim Strap and Wrist Strap - Love it
  5. Alpaka Vertical Sling Bag ( hope it fits the M11 with the lens it's only 2.2L ) 4L bags were just too big for my taste

Overall I must say some of the prices for Leica accessories feel like I'm buying car parts.

I am with Jewl!

For me its "just" a comfortable strap ( I like the Elchleather ones), a second battery, and the EVF which I use only for short distance with the APO35, or lenses wider 28 or lower 75mm. And I put a display cover glass on the back. I don't need grip, soft release etc. etc.

I also like if the M looks more like a working tool than a shiny luxury product
