I have never done this before. Is this normal practice, or just style?

IMHO it's just asking for trouble.

I do that from time to time but not around others that may bump it and knock it over.

Came back to the M6 & first time using titanium body (the lens I had used it before but w/ a BP body which matches quite well too)

I find the tan leatherette inspiring. Thanks for the picture. Maybe, at some time, a solution for my M4P in black chrome.

Since the release of the Leica M6 2022, I have gone over and over in my mind whether it is really worth exchanging my M6 TTL (0.58) for the new model. After it was suggested here in the forum that if the light meter breaks, there is no longer any possibility of repair and I also got this more or less (but not directly) confirmed during a visit to the Customer Care and the Leica dealer made me a very interesting exchange offer, I have now done it:

What a feeling to hold a brand new Leica M6 in my hands, which as a photo-obsessed student (1986) I had wanted so much (I had bought the Leica M6 TTL (0.58) new in 2004 as a young family man as a discontinued model for a very, very reasonable price by today's standards). My wife encouraged me to do the swap again and was also there when I bought it yesterday. Now I am very proud of both: my wife and the Leica M6 2022 😄

Which Rimowa is that? Looks like the champagne bottle version or is it a different one?
