neolam Posted August 2, 2011 Share #482 Posted August 2, 2011 (edited) that means the rewind knob will spin is considered normal...just scared that the lever is spoiled... Edited August 2, 2011 by neolam
Nick_S Posted August 2, 2011 Share #483 Posted August 2, 2011 guys....when i rewind my film its quite stiff and when i release my lever it will turn back quickly and need to rewind again...is that normal for M6 classic?? and how do i get correctly exposure using f2 with ISO 400 film under sunny day without any filter on it?? The rewind lever should move freely without any film in the camera and be rather stiff when rewinding film. When you let go it uncoils like the spring in a mechanical clock so hold on tight... If you are shooting black and white film, Ilford XP2 allows you to mix film speed settings from EI 50 to 800 on the same roll, which might help you keep your lens at a wider aperture in sunny conditions by using the slower film speed setting. This would be like asking into a round of hungry people: "What food would be good for getting full?" The only color film i use is Fuji Superia 200 for occasional snapshot rolls. I use TriX 400 and Neopan 400, both at 3200 for all other stuff.

Guest Paul Jenkin Posted September 17, 2011 Share #496 Posted September 17, 2011 Mine's an M6TTL with 0.72 finder. Lenses are 28mm/f2.8 Elmarit-M, 35mm Canon/f2.8, 50mm/f2 Summicron-M and a badly abused, very old 90mm/f4 Elmar that still turns out nice results. hunghang Posted October 2, 2011 Share #497 Posted October 2, 2011 I originally had this camera up for sale, but it's growing on me. What was I thinking?
mholtsberg Posted October 2, 2011 Share #498 Posted October 2, 2011 I just did it. Ordered chrome M6(classic)...can't wait to get it. It is supposed to be in EX+ condition.. I used a loaner M3 and loved it..but I think the TTL meter will be a plus... This with my M8 should be enough to hold me awhile. I listed my DLux5 on the Big E auction site to offset the cost. Limwhow Posted October 3, 2011 Share #499 Posted October 3, 2011 let me help you showing your beautiful M6 Ah... a lovely Leitz M6 Classic. I recognise this powerful little machine the instance I laid eyes open this photo. Benny has sold it to be not long ago (well, about 3 weeks ago, to be precised.). And now, it's reincarnation appears thus... Now with its new partner the 50mm Lux mounted. And shot with an M9 with an Elmarit 90mm. Thanks, Benny!
Slamram Posted October 21, 2011 Share #500 Posted October 21, 2011 My workhorse M6 Classic. M3-style lever, black dot and "beauty mark" (top plate) from where a flash gnawed it´s way through the coating back in the day. C220 in background, inexpensive and allows for multiple optics, so quite nice for a TLR. The 50 and 28 might end up getting sold to fund a 35, or i might switch Ultron to Elmarit, not sure yet. Not a big fan of changing lenses whilst on the move though. Crappy iPhone photo, all my work is on film, so no other digital available atm. She deserves a better photo though, love this camera!
