menos I M6 Posted December 24, 2011 Share #524 Posted December 24, 2011 Hello I received my M6 1996 for my 30th birthday. Black with an 35mm 2.0 I started using it again yesterday!!! I use a mac running 10.7.2 My old epson Photo 3200 scanner does not work any more........ Thanks for help Alexander Congratulations on this fine camera Alexander! Your cheapest solution with respectable results might by, getting a Plustek 7600i scanner. Have a look at this thread: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/film-forum/153571-plustek-7600i-se-very-good-money.html If you come along the bundled Silverfast software well (there is an issue with the older software version and OS X Lion), you could stay with it, but many (myself included) buy a different scanning software, which is reputed as much, much more user-friendly: Vuescan from Ed Hamrick. I now use the Plustek as a scanner for the first edit with Silverfast 8 Demo installed (for initial driver install on OS X Lion) and run the latest Vuescan 64bit software. I am very happy with the results. Don't get hopes to high though - while the Plustek output is nice for web and small prints (max 8x10" in my opinion), you really want to have your final edit scanned with a professional film scanner (drumscan/ Imacon/ Hasselblad or digitized with a high res reproduction macro lens and digital camera).

Hi Alexander - there's definitely something very wrong with that scan - but I'd recommend that you start a new thread on the subject, as I anticipate that your problem will otherwise disappear amidst the M6-love. Tim B Posted January 13, 2012 Share #533 Posted January 13, 2012 Thanks, thinking of getting a 50 cron or 50 sonnar zm. Don't know which one should I take but Im sure about the 50mm focal length.. Since you have a lovely classic Leica camera (congratulations!) and presumably want Leica character to your photos it surely has to be a Leica lens - the only sort of lens that can give you Leica character. Happy Leica shooting, Tim

Happy Leica shooting, Tim I recommend 50/1.4 and/or 35/1.4 of leica glasses for travel kit Although I search for my own character on my photos, having leica lenses definitely add more leica experiences when shooting it Best. payasam Posted January 14, 2012 Share #535 Posted January 14, 2012 I only had Bubbles -- so named because of the dermal phenomenon on its top plate, which importantly made it affordable -- a few weeks before it had to go for the mis-named restorative surgery called "finder upgrade". As it and Silki the IIIc will be the last film cameras I ever buy, I hope to fall in love

kivis Posted January 20, 2012 Share #537 Posted January 20, 2012 Just got an M6 today. Is there anyway to tell if it has an MP finder upgrade? Is it a big deal to have?
payasam Posted January 20, 2012 Share #538 Posted January 20, 2012 Many say that they can manage without the finder "upgrade", but for me it was unfortunately a very big deal. In less than a month after I got my M6, it was on its way back to the US (to DAG) for the dropped condenser to be restored. It became clear, in the first half dozen exposures I made with the camera, that I would not be able to work with the not infrequent total white-out of the R/F patch. I do not know if there is a positive way to tell whether your M6 has had the "upgrade" -- other than asking the person from whom you bought it, of course. If it has not been fixed, you are sure to find out soon. There is much material on the Internet: please search for "M6 finder flare". If you have experience of earlier models -- M3, M2, M4 -- you will notice immediately that the finder's behaviour is different.
